Excusing Students From School
Attendance Line:  507-328-3501

Requests to excuse students from school should be made in advance in writing to the classroom teacher as soon as possible. The office should be notified, as well. Students are responsible for arranging make-up work with their classroom teacher. If leaving during the day, the student must be signed out in the office. Students will be called out of the classroom while parents are signing them out. For the safety of all the children in the school, parents are asked NOT to go to their child’s classroom to pick him/her up. In some cases, the class is not in their room but another part of the building. This will save parents time since the office has a schedule for every class. When students return during the school day, the parent must sign them in.

Student Check-out Policy
Parents who wish to pick up their children from school when classes are in session or during their lunch break are REQUIRED TO SIGN THEM OUT IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE. If the student(s) are returned before school ends, he/she must be signed in at the office. ONLY AUTHORIZED ADULTS ARE ALLOWED TO SIGN OUT A STUDENT; A PARENT/GUARDIAN PERMISSION, MUST BE OBTAINED FOR A NON-CUSTODIAL PARENT OR ANOTHER PARTY TO SIGN OUT A STUDENT.
